Then walk to the Chaurasi Temple (84 Pillar Temple), a 10th-century stone structure dedicated to Chamunda Devi, about 15 minutes from the bazaar. The steps are steep but short. From there, sit by the Ravi River if the light is good. Return to the bazaar for lunch at a dhaba, where the daal and sabzi are cheap and made for local palates. In the afternoon, visit the Bhuri Singh Museum, which has textiles, manuscripts and local art in a small building that closes by 5 pm.
