How to experience it

The journey to the archipelago takes 1–1.5 hours by speedboat depending on which islands in the group you are visiting. The water is open ocean, so the ride can be bouncy if there is swell. Once at the site, the boatman will choose a snorkelling location based on current and visibility.
You will snorkel for 45–60 minutes, then the boat moves to a different site for lunch and a second snorkel. The reefs here are isolated from fishing pressure and boat traffic, so the coral and fish populations are exceptional. You may see large groupers, jacks, sharks and rays. The variety of coral is higher than at Havelock's accessible reefs.
The return journey arrives back at Govind Nagar by late afternoon. You will be tired, sunburned and elated if the snorkelling went well.
