- The fort's internal staircases are steep and some lack handrails. Wear sturdy shoes with good grip, and do not attempt upper floors if you have knee or balance issues. The Raja Mahal and Jahangir Mahal ground floors are the most accessible.
- Plan fort visits for early morning or late afternoon to avoid the heat inside the stone buildings. Afternoons (12–4 PM) are very hot and the stone heats up. Bring a hat, sunscreen and plenty of water.
