For parents and senior travellers

Visit the Statue of Unity in the morning before the queue builds and the heat peaks. Wheelchair access and lifts to high levels are available; confirm these when booking your entry.
The dam is mostly viewable from vehicle; limited walking needed if you stay in the car. The main viewpoints have seating and shade.
Heat is the biggest challenge. Carry a hat, water bottle, and sunscreen. Afternoons are extremely hot; plan rest time in your hotel or an air-conditioned space.
