Udaipur Airport (UDR), about 2.5–3 hours by road, is the closest with regular flights; Ahmedabad Airport, around 4–5 hours away, is an alternative.

Abu Road railway station, at the base of the mountain (about 1,220m below), is roughly 1.5–2 hours from Mount Abu town, with limited passenger trains.

A single narrow, winding road connects Mount Abu to Abu Road and on to Udaipur and Ahmedabad; buses and taxis use this route, and self-driving is not advised for the unfamiliar.

For parents and senior travellers
Easy transfers to and in Mount Abu
- The single narrow winding road up and down the mountain causes motion sickness in some travellers. Sit in the front seat of your car and focus on the horizon; eat light meals before the drive.
- Achalgarh Fort and Guru Shikhar involve steep drives and short walks with stairs; you can visit both by car and skip the walking if needed, but the views are worth the climb if you are able. Bring water and a hat.
- Shops and restaurants have limited hours, especially in the off-season (April–September). Carry medications, toiletries and any special dietary items from the plains.
- Ask the airline or railway for wheelchair or porter assistance when you book, not on the day.
- Pre-book the pickup from the airport or station, so nobody has to negotiate with drivers after a long journey.
- Choose arrivals in daylight where you can, and keep the first afternoon free to rest.
