Easy transfers to and in Nainital
- The Mall Road is largely flat and walkable, but the lake paths have some uneven sections and steps. Choose your walking time and partners carefully.
- The ropeway to Snow View is a good alternative to steep hiking for those wanting a viewpoint without much exertion. The Cable Car ride is gentle and the view from the top is worth the modest climb.
- Hire a car for nearby lake visits (Bhimtal, Sat Tal) rather than relying on shared taxis, which can be crowded and involve standing.
- The weather is cool and pleasant from November to February, but mornings and nights can be cold. Carry layers and a light sweater even in spring.
- The town has a small hospital and pharmacies near the Mall Road. Note the locations before sightseeing.
- Ask the airline or railway for wheelchair or porter assistance when you book, not on the day.
- Pre-book the pickup from the airport or station, so nobody has to negotiate with drivers after a long journey.
- Choose arrivals in daylight where you can, and keep the first afternoon free to rest.
