Railway station: Omkareshwar-Mandhata station has limited service. Most visitors come by road from Indore (about 80 km) or via Khandwa, a railway junction roughly 70 km away by road.
Getting around: The island is best explored on foot. To cross the river, use the footbridge or hire a boat or ferry. A car and driver is useful for the dam or onward travel, but not essential for the main town.
