Day by day
- Day 1 — Arrive and settle near the ghats
Pickup from Varanasi airport, which is roughly 25 km from the city, or from the railway station. The drive to the ghat area can take 45–75 minutes depending on traffic. We shortlist hotels where a vehicle can reach the entrance, because many ghat-side properties are only reachable on foot through narrow lanes. Rest for the afternoon. If your parents feel fresh, attend the evening Ganga aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat from a booked boat or reserved seating, which is far more comfortable than standing in the crowd on the steps. Early dinner and sleep.
- Day 2 — Kashi Vishwanath darshan and a long rest
An early start for Kashi Vishwanath. The Kashi Vishwanath Dham corridor has made access much easier than it once was, with wide paved paths from the Ganga side and the Gate side, but queues can still be long, especially on Mondays, in Shravan and on festival days. Phones, bags and leather items generally cannot be taken inside, so we plan locker use in advance. Where available, we help coordinate wheelchair or assisted access at the temple. After darshan, return to the hotel for breakfast and a long rest. Late afternoon: a short, gentle walk along the ghats or simply watching the river from the hotel terrace.
- Day 3 — Sunrise boat, Sankat Mochan, Durga Kund and Tulsi Manas
Take a sunrise boat ride from a ghat with manageable steps; a rowing boat is peaceful, while a motorboat covers more distance with less time on the water. The boatman passes the major ghats, and Manikarnika can be viewed respectfully from the river. After breakfast and rest, a mid-morning cab loop covers three temples close to each other in south Varanasi: Sankat Mochan, dedicated to Hanuman; Durga Kund, with its red-ochre shikhara and tank; and Tulsi Manas, where verses of the Ramcharitmanas line the marble walls. Lunch and a long rest. Evening is free, or a quieter aarti at Assi Ghat.
- Day 4 — Gentle morning and departure
A slow morning — some parents like to return to the river for a few quiet minutes or buy Banarasi items as gifts. Checkout with help from the hotel, then the transfer leaves with ample time for the airport or station. If airline wheelchair or buggy assistance is needed, request it in advance; we remind you and help coordinate on the day.
