For parents and senior travellers

Hire a car and driver for the full duration of your stay. Coorg's roads are winding, and auto-rickshaws are infrequent in rural areas.
High-altitude roads to Talakaveri and beyond can be narrow and windy. If you suffer from motion sickness, sit in the front seat and ask the driver to go slowly.
Stay hydrated. The elevation and cool mornings can mask dehydration. Carry water bottles and rest often.
Check the monsoon forecast if you visit June to September. Landslides can block roads for hours, and some sights are inaccessible.
Ask the airline or railway for wheelchair or porter assistance when you book, not on the day.
Pre-book the pickup from the airport or station, so nobody has to negotiate with drivers after a long journey.
Choose arrivals in daylight where you can, and keep the first afternoon free to rest.
