Easy transfers to and in Sarnath
- Consider hiring a car and driver or arranging a guide for the day. Sitting in a cool car between sites is worth the cost, especially if you have mobility concerns or tire easily in heat.
- Carry water consistently. The site's water points and cafes are sparse. Dehydration happens quickly in Sarnath's dry season.
- If you are driving to Bodh Gaya, break the 4-5 hour journey at a midway town for lunch and rest. Overnight stays are recommended for older travellers.
- Ask the airline or railway for wheelchair or porter assistance when you book, not on the day.
