- Bhopal Junction is the main station, in the southern part of the old city. It is on the central railway route and well-connected to Delhi, Indore, Agra and Mumbai.
- Getting around
- A car and driver is the easiest option for day trips and reaching the lakes and palaces. Autos are available but less reliable for longer journeys. No metro or tram; local buses exist but are crowded.

- Book a car and driver for the whole day. It gives you a cool place to rest between sights and avoids long, hot walks.
- Hospitals and pharmacies are concentrated near MP Nagar Road and the railway station. Note the nearest one to your hotel.
- Ask the airline or railway for wheelchair or porter assistance when you book, not on the day.
- Pre-book the pickup from the airport or station, so nobody has to negotiate with drivers after a long journey.
