- New Jalpaiguri Junction (NJP) near Siliguri, about 2.5–3 hours by road. Kalimpong itself is no longer on the active metre-gauge hill railway line.

- Pre-book the pickup from the airport or station, so nobody has to negotiate with drivers after a long journey.
